Variations of a theme --realism to abstraction

Someone was interested in reproductions showing variations of a theme --and
artist's thought process as one goes from realism to abstraction....

I hadn't looked at all of the gallery images on MoMA "What is a Print?" site
until today...For those interested in the "thought processes" of an artist
from realism to abstraction--take a look at Picasso's Bulls -- under the
lithography gallery:
http://www.moma.org/whatisaprint/flash.html

Also take a look at Warhol's Marilyn Monroe --ten different versions are
presented (the most I have seen on any one site). This would be good to show
students who are doing digital self-portraits.

I used this site with my seventh grader today and they really enjoyed it.
