Has anyone been watching "Egg: The Arts Show" on PBS?
Is it any good? It's on Friday night here, and I keep forgetting it's on.
It has been airing for about a month now, I think...
Also, did anyone else catch the "On the Inside: U.S. Mint" on Discovery last
week? Had a good segment with the artists who designed both sides of the new
dollar coin. Showed Glenna Goodacre sculpting her design of Sacajawea (sp)
in clay (with model in studio) and the other artist (can't remember his
name!) adding finishing touches to the plaster mold taken from his design of
the eagle. Really interesting. Talked about how things had to be measured in
tenths of an inch, and showed them transferring the designs to a coin blank,
the creation of the coin stamps and the creation of the coins.
It would be really nice, if somebody somewhere could come up with a service
that reviewed and gave notice of EVERY educational show every week. I know
that would be a BIG job, but it would still be nice.
