This is very similar to the application for the Rhode Island School of Design
scholarship and application. They are asked to create a design with graphite
that is 18 "x 24. They are to do an abstraction of a bicycle and they spend
countless hours on it to achieve graphite perfection. When they send it,
they ask them to fold it into quarters and send it in the mail. FOLD IT! I
was livid and I couldn't see them trashing these works just for them. Their
(Rhode Island) comment was that it was an excersize and that it didn't
matter. What a cavalier attitude, It does matter if you have spent that long
on it. They sent it and they got in, so what do I know?

Sometimes I think that I take art to seriously and this shouldn't bother me.
I just think that I would have a lot of trouble going to a school who took
art work and effort so lightly. OH WELL.
