What art classes do you teach? Studio in Art A and B, Drawing and Painting,
Creative Crafts, alternate years....Graphic Arts or Advertising.
What are your high school's catalog descriptions
of the classes you teach? Too long to go into.
Do you teach 4-block; 8-block;
I teach the same schedule every day. 5 art classes 43 minutes each and one
study hall.
What are the pros/cons of the schedule you teach? I guess like everyone has
previously said, a longer class time would mean saying...it's time to clean
up less. But it works out ok for me. The more advanced classes would
benefit most from a longer class.
Do you have time to create art beyond the
classroom? Not that much except the summer.
If so, what is your area of expertise? I most enjoy mixed media and find
that my students are fascinated by it too. I've taken completed smaller
assignments and had the students incorporate that work into a larger project.
The students love it since it gives them an opportunity to be different,
unique and creative.
