I teach HS art ( 9-12) and 1 section of middle school elective art in a
jr/sr HS on Cape Cod

This is my third year at this level, but taught previously 9 years at the
k-6 level.

I teach Art Foundations, Drawing and Design, Clay I, Advanced Clay,
Printmaking, and Art Skills ( middle school elective art).

We teach traditional semester classes, 7 blocks a day, 44 minutes each. I
teach 5. Next year we may add one double block every 6 days. 44 minutes is
TOO SHORT! We waste so much time with set up and clean up. Kids don't have
enough opportunity to really get involved with their work. We pushed hard
for a block schedule, but the rest of the faculty won't buy into it.

I paint in watercolor and belong to a seasonal co-op gallery so I must have
work ready to hang come Memorial day. I usually get frantic over Feb. and
April vacations and that's when I produce the most work. I also do home
portrait commission work in watercolor and/or pen and ink.
