just used this for the first time myself this yr w/ studio in art kids- we
did masks- used egg shaped styro forms cut in half , mounted on cardboard
bases- first layer has to be applied on by kind of "spreading" the stuff by
putting a wad on, flatteniong gradually w/ fingers- must be sure to fully
"smooth" it or it can be pitt-y looking. Make sure it is in soft lumps-
should be moist to touch and "squishable" but not "drippy" - can insert other
things like feathers, pipecleaners, etc for details. Kids have to add on a
little at a time. Bigg parts that come off should have an understructure such
as toothpicks or bent and twisted pipelcleaners for supportive strength. Very
nice results when painted w/ acrylics-
as an aside- I just got a Mavica on sale at Sears for $400. can't wait to get
strarted- maybe now I'll start thinking about a wb page.....
