Hi
I used cellu clay this year with my high school gifted
students. They wrote plays and made fully articulated
marionnettes out of the cellu clay. I mixed it once I saw
that it released clouds of dust. (I didn't want clouds of
dust everywhere, so I mixed the batcheds myself) I took a
large throw away turkey cooking foil pan, broke up the cellu
clay and flattened it out, and then poured water over it,
then mixed it up and stored it in individual baggies. Each
kid took a baggie full and worked with that, returning for
another baggie when they needed it.
The puppets were painted with acrylics, and strung on
"airplane" controllers with braided fishing line. The kids
pretaped their shows, and when they gave the show only had
to worry about manipulating their puppets.
