Frequency of classes, Elementary

Good Morning All, and happy Friday!

Our Visual Arts curriculum cycle is just about up and this summer we will
begin considering which way to go in terms of writing an updated one.

If you teach Elementary, I was wondering if you could give me some feedback
in terms of how often you see each of your classes, how many you teach, and
the length of each class.

I know a similar thread was posted recently, but I am mainly concerned with
the actual amount of time you spend with each child a week. We currently
see 24 classes, once a week, for 55 minutes each. I would like to see this
changed to twice a week, as are our Music and Phys. Ed. classes, but I will
need a good basis for making this request. I feel that for learning
continuity and retention, as well as having the ability to more effectively
follow through with lesson achievement, both in terms of quality and
quantity, twice a week classes would greatly benefit our kids.

Has anyone fought and won a similar quest?

Thanks in advance, and keep all those great ideas flowing!
