Reproducing works of art

FYI:

Artworks used from museums almost always require a one time
reproduction fee which can range from $200.00 on up. Museums make quite
a lot of money through reproduction fees and I think that is only fair.
Even with low reproduction fees, reproductions are a huge upfront
investment for the publisher. Good printing certainly is expensive - the
quality of the Take 5 prints are due to the process of their printing (I
think in Hong Kong). Authors are usually paid either a single flat
payment or royalties. And sometimes it takes up to a year from
manuscript to the final printing. Pam and I first approached Crystal
Productions because of the quality of their Take 5 publications. We
consider many factors when choosing thematic sets and we try to include
different cultures, times, and genders in our selections.
