For those who are overly concerned about how "out there" you are, you could
change the way your emails are sent--using just your email address or a
nickname rather than your full name. In Outlook Express, click on "Tools,"
then "Accounts," then "Properties" and then you should see a box that comes
up that asks for your name. Type in what you want (to protect your privacy,
to some degree....) You can also choose to not use a "signature" or modify
that, too, if you want.

I made these changes several months ago, though what's already "out there"
is "out there," and I had to laugh at what Woody said, because I, too, am
FAR easier to find on the internet than many of the topics I try to
research!

Generally it takes about a month (I think) for search engines to pick up on
new information, so Reatha, you probably won't be able to find the post that
you just made.

Fortunately, I've not had a real problem regarding this cyber openness, and
I don't have too many concerns about it. Where my full name is listed on my
website are areas that mainly art teachers would frequent, and I guess I'm
hoping that we're all relatively "normal"--ha.

Hmmm...

Well, given that we're art teachers, maybe "normal" isn't the best word to
choose! ;-)
