Rock hard plasticene

You might try to warm it with a hair dryer and knead in petroleum jelly
(vaseline). If it has truly leached out all of its oils, you might break it
up and soak it in a lightweight oil, like a machine oil. I have never seen a
rock hard plasticene... we made our own in college. I cant imagine where the
oils and greases have gone, unless they had been absorbed by the addition of
dry clay or absorbtive matter. Is it possible that the wax component has
"lithofied"? I am not up on wax chemistry. Peter
