Having used both hardware platforms extensively, I did tons of reasearch and
experimented a lot, made a realistic list of my needs, both current and
future and then chose the macintosh platform.

Why? The soul purpose was flexibility. In education (as most of you
know...<g>) flexibility is the key! I liked that my mac could read pc disks
(at this time I was primarily working in MS Office and Photoshop) That I
could take old pc files and convert them and read them on the mac (please
don't ask me all the details) I also like that I can install virtual PC and
run (almost) any PC software on my Mac while the reverse isn't true.

Please don't send letters....I know there are people who swear by their
platform of choice. I can work in either platform...it makes no difference
to me.....however...when it came time for me to make my investment....i chose
MAC

Strictly personal preference!
