BTW, I don't even use
cover-ups in any grade- no time in my 40 min. art class to start delegating
smocks. An occasional child (with the anal parent) brings her own shirt to
art and is responsible for putting it on.

I liked your "magical journey" letter to parents! I also send one letter at
the beginning of the year. Also, I don't provide smocks either, the kids
are responsible for their own clothing/smocks. I rarely get complaints.
Once in a while a parent will complain to the classroom teacher, who always
backs me up.
