Susan,

I think I remember reading that shaking the jar of glaze too vigorously
creates bubbles in the glaze (even after application) which pop out
during firing. I have my students hold the jar and gently up end it,
then right it, several times. We also stir up the heavy settled stuff
with old spoons or wooden brush handles.
