7th Mancala boards:

These were made from re-cycled stuff--cardboard, cardboard tubes, egg
cartons. Students worked in small groups -- or individually (effort, problem
solving and behavior counted more than the end product in this unit).
6th Grade Tessellations:

This project cause my "sixers" fits until they went to the Internet and
learned more about different tessellations --It was smooth sailing after
that. I goofed big time and made the rhombus too small...and didn't make it
quite perfect. Our tessellations had too many gaps when we assembled the
parts. I learned my lesson.
Thanks Woody (and Jeannie, Bunki and Sharon)! I still haven't written my
own lesson plan --I just used Woody's.
