Saw this lesson somewhere else...thought it was great and adapted it for my
classes and instructional techniques.
Produces great results...the Fish-tea Pots were something else to see
These were small and most held only enough tea for a teaspoon per cup but
what fun.
My basic clay skill building projects were 1st-pinch pot, 2nd-ball pot,
3rd-coil pot, 4th-slab pot, and 5th was a DBAE unit in which the students
could apply any of the skills learned in the previous 4 years. It took simple
review to stir the creative juices. Any new students without the step by step
process were taught the coil method.
Other projects:
Coil drawing
porcelain pins
animal sculptures
simple series
reliefs
tiles
