I just got back from Interlocken, Switzerland, and after just a week, I can
tell you that they are pretty darn proud of "their" Swiss Alps. Why not do
a lesson on "Snowy Mountains." Show them slides of the Swiss Alps, compare
to the Rockies, Sierras, Apalachian, turn an art lesson into a geography
lesson as well.
Paint a Mural.
Design a Swiss Chalet
Do some research and have kids design Swiss House symbols (I know they
probably have a special name, just don't know what it is.) All the houses
have these "placques" on the front of them, much like the Pennsylvannia
Dutch Barn Symbols.
Design a Watch.Give kids a template for a watch, and have them put designs
on it.
This might be too far fetched, but what about a "Swiss Army Knife" design,
only NO KNIVES........lets, say, a SCHOOL TOOLS.... it looks like a swiss
army knife thing, but out of the RED Body, comes, pencils, forks, paint
brushes, crayons, rulers, etc.
Hopes this helps.
