Not sure about Dali, and the chances of his being named after a still dead
born brother, however this is true as concerns Vincent. He was named with
the exact name of a brother stillborn before his own birth. Some have read
the possibility of a psychosis as a result of that, perhaps always having to
live up to some ideal at his own moments of failings. However, as one
author I'm reading pointed out ...such a practice in the 1800's was not an
all to uncommon practice.
