Today the new packet, which I ordered at the conference from Sax, arrived
with the 3-d info and color theory ideas. It really looks great! I ordered
80 3-d glasses so each of my 5th grade students would be able keep one, along
with a holographic color project. I am also integrating the lesson with the
science teacher- scientific color theory.
This project is the Sax catalogue cover. It was also featured at the Sax
booth at the NAEA conference. I think the kids will be as fascinated as I am
with the concept. I'm always looking for a new "catch" to keep them
motivated.
Has anyone else tried or is planning to write a lesson to utilize the special
3-d glasses? I am thinking of having each student create a self-portrait in
Fauve style, or perhaps Matisse style- even Picasso would work- anything that
uses bright colors. I would appreciate other ideas you might have in regard
to this project.
BTW, Judy, you can always quote me..." I love Sax's large variety of art and
crafts materials, many of which can only be found in their catalogue. The
personalized service from Sax's representatives makes it a pleasure to do
business with them!"
