Native American beading project

Does anyone out there have a culturally sound beading project that can be
done with children ages 5-10? The focus of our Native American Arts
Festival is on the New England/Northeastern United States tribes, and it
was suggested to me by a member of a local Native American art consortium
that we have the kids make beaded chokers; however, I am not having much
luck on the web finding any easy "how-to" lesson plans that use quality
materials (i.e. not a toilet paper roll).

If anyone has experience in this area or knows of a good website, I would
appreciate your input!
