I was a layout artist and typesetter when the first computers arrived on
the scene umpteen yrs. ago. I am self-taught.

I have designed a class for 8th graders using power point, kid pix,
claris works, and the web. I fought to teach it and have difficulty
continuing to offer the class due to other classes wanting the time in the
computer lab and don't want it tied up 1 hour everyday.

Writing clear precise directions for students to follow. At first the
students had no prior experience in such activities. Now they seem to have
more exposure to some procedures from other classes and at home.
Critical problems with other teachers who don't want me in the computer
room all semester. Long periods of time required to write lesson plans.

Very rewarding for the kids to have experience in areas that are quite
professional looking in the results and potentially will make them very
employable.
