Ask ERIC has all been updated since last summer. I have About.com to thank
for this "discovery" (smile Craig...I will let you know if interested) as
their links were broken.

There are many new lesson ideas -- First year teachers (and veteran) should
check them out.

My link is correct on my site...Maybe I should tell the "guide" to subscribe
to the Getty list if she cares to learn about more broken links on her
pages? I guess it won't hurt to tell all of you one of the reasons I do not
like About.com. I am opposed to gambling---and they have gambling banners on
many pages and gambling links on every page. They did take the gambling
links off of the "About.com For Kids" pages -- but it is too easy for kids
to click onto the main site. The guide did correct the link on the Art
History Timeline (in less than 24 hours). I found better timelines though
and never have used the one from About.com (I just discovered it when
searching for ones for my students).

Those of you who use About.com for Artists' Birthdays will find more
accurate information elsewhere---and more thorough information if you use
Craig Roland's @rt Room site.

Oh...and for clarification...I do know I am "good at art"....I was just
making a point that everyone is not "gifted" at the realistic representation
of objects that so many children perceive to be "good art". Very few of my
students have that "gift" or "talent". I used to spend hours and hours over
my watercolors trying to get exact details...My present work bares no
comparison to what I did before. In fact....I don't even do much with
watercolors since my "client' is gone (since 1992). My real sister used to
buy my watercolors for wedding gifts...birthday gifts....you name it. She
was my "Theo".

Ditto to what everyone has said to help children improve their skills. I
agree! and I do say all of those things, too. I just try to get students to
admire those who are more talented than they are rather than feel inferior.
