My favorite mediums:
My first love is transparent watercolor. The Winslow Homer exhibit
is in Kansas City now and I take my students on May 4th. As most of you
know I travel to Taos, New Mexico each June to recharge my soul by
painting with my watercolor buds at the Sagebrush Inn.

I also dabble in some printmaking. We just got a new etching press at
Rosedale and we plan to try it out next week. We are going to be doing
drypoint etching on plastic plates.

Recently I have fallen in love with my Sony Mavica camera and Power Point.
It has rekindled my love of photography. I'm now utilizing many of the skills
I picked up in Photojournalism classes at KU. My grandkids give me chances
to tell stories with pictures all the time.

As for my students, they seem to love and excel in clay sculpture and
printmaking. It appears to be the satisfaction from manipulation of the unique
materials that they enjoy most. Enjoyment appears to create quality production.

And of course, this invention of the internet and the wonderful tool of
web pages.
It has become my new medium of choice. It is visual, it is interactive
and I can
continue to adapt it forever. It allows me contact and interaction with
my new
friends all over the world.

I hope everyone out there is enjoying their family this Easter. The triplets
will be over to find what the Easter Bunny has left for them. And they
may bring
their parents too. Ham and Polska Kilbassa for dinner today. Last
Easter was at
their house, now it's Grand Poppies turn.
