This is so sad and unbeleivably difficult for kids. We have had quite a few
deaths this year, a father of a student,
a teacher's daughter, and two husbands of teachers. All impacted the
students.
especially because they were all so yourg-(30's and 40's)
It seemed like there were subs covering for teachers alot for funerals.
Anyway, in a couple of cases, the kids made banners and displayed them at the
funeral home. They wrote a message and decorated a border. I think you said
that you are on Spring break, but maybe, when you all return, you could have
them make memory boxes, or collages of their year- Or talk about flowers as
symbol and make some flower art, etc. Just a thought. Good luck, and be
