wearable art

What about exploring the history of "wearable art" through body painting,
tattooing and body piercing. Not that you will do it...but you will bring in
some multi-cultural art history as well as draw them in with the contemporary
controversy. What about elaborate stage make-ups? (Cats for instance?) Have
them pick an animal or fantasy character and create a make-up for it, then
apply it to a friend. (Careers in Visual Arts!) What about the Kobuko
(someone tell me if this is correct!) Theater of Japan. (I know what I
mean....I just can't remember the correct name). What about exploring henna
tattoos and their meaning. Look at African tribal social structures to
understand how jewelery and other "body art" are like social identifiers.

Good Luck!
