Sculpture Park - The Henry Moore Sculpture Garden
In June 1989, the Henry Moore Sculpture Garden
opened on the Museum’s
south lawn, marking the beginning of the
Nelson-Atkins’ commitment to
collecting the finest sculpture of our times. Ten
of the 13 monumental outdoor
sculptures by the distinguished British artist
Henry Moore are part of a
collection of nearly 60 works by Moore acquired in
1986 by The Hall Family
Foundation and subsequently placed on long-term
loan to the Museum. The
majority of the Hall collection, maquettes and
working models, are installed in
the Rozzelle Court Balcony inside the Museum. In
1991, the Foundation added
another Moore sculpture to the garden. In addition
to the Hall collection, the
Garden includes a Moore sculpture owned by the
Museum and one owned by
the city of Kansas City, Mo.
Maybe I'm insane- I remember 300- well 60 is plenty, but I'm still
going to find out about my 300# I located the archives on the star
but I don't have a library card in KC any more and they charge for
their archives now. The saga continues. make it 400 blows!
