The Getty Villa

Admission: Free with your advance, timed ticket to the Getty Villa. Each Villa ticket allows you to bring up to three children ages 15 and under with you in one car.

Bring your family to the Getty Villa for our annual summer drop-in program and learn about ancient art through interactive games and hands-on art making.
In summer 2011, families learned about ancient music and poetry. Parents and kids made and decorated drums and kitharas, which are stringed instruments played by ancient Greek musicians.
Families also learned about ancient poetry and the festival of the god Dionysos, a celebration during which musicians and poets competed to offer the best of their new compositions. Family members could try their hands at writing an ode to the god.
