Conrad Egan
Two Watermills and an Open Sluice

The mood that Ruisdael was able to convey through his landscape was very appealing to me. I therefore wanted to experiment with the different moods I could generate from this piece. With lighting as my primary tool, I attempted to recreate the vibrant light of the original, and then I modified the image to carry over the "spooky" undertones that I felt in the original painting, and tried to emphasize them in a nighttime scene.
