The Conservation of Decorated Architectural Surfaces: Some Perspectives
Murals, such as The Pope of Broadway (Anthony Quinn) by Eloy Torrez, present particularly difficult challenges for conservators. Often these murals—made with modern paints not necessarily formulated for outdoor use, degraded by high levels of UV light, and targeted for graffiti—require maintenance and conservation treatment on a large scale.
