Save Outdoor Sculpture!: A Community-Based Conservation Program
King Kamehameha I (1880) by Thomas Ridgeway Gould. The statue was lost at sea on its way to Honolulu, where a replacement statue stands today. The original was later recovered and brought to Kapa'au, Hawaii. During and after conservation treatment, Kapa'au volunteers learned how to care for their town's sculpture.
