The Painted Murals of Cambridge: Maintaining the City's Collection

A 1977 mural—originally painted by Jeff Oberdorfer and a group of neighborhood residents—is an architectural depiction of triple-decker houses, painted in the style and scale of the abutting residences. The mural, threatened by development two decades later, was ultimately restored by an architectural muralist hired by the Cambridge Arts Council. Photo: Courtesy the Cambridge Arts Council.
