GCI Welcomes ICOM-CC

In October 2006 the GCI welcomed the directory board and working group coordinators of the International Council of Museums—Committee for Conservation (ICOM-CC). They represent the fourteen hundred worldwide members of ICOM-CC, the largest of ICOM's international committees.

Meeting at both the Getty Center and the Getty Villa, the ICOM-CC board and coordinators worked to further their preconference goals in anticipation of ICOM-CC's Fifteenth Triennial Meeting, to be held September 2008 in New Delhi. While in Southern California, they also met with members of the local conservation community to bring the work of this important international organization to the attention of more conservation professionals.

ICOM-CC aims to promote the conservation, investigation, and analysis of culturally and historically significant works and to further the goals of the conservation profession. For further information, please visit the ICOM-CC Web site.
