Taiping Rebellion (Chinese history, 1850-1864)

Note: Fourteen-year religious and political rebellion led by Hong Xiuquan and his Christian movement, known as Taiping Tianguo. The rebellion captured numerous cities and provinces, caused the death of roughly 20 million, and ended in the city of Nanjing with a victory by Qing dynasty troops, and an army of gentry.
