Note: Aviary in 16th-century Tenochtitlan (present Mexico City). Totocalco and Totocalli were terms used interchangeably in different sources to refer to one of two places, the first was a storehouse to the east of the main temple precinct where Mexica precious goods were kept, while the other was housed birds of the realm.
