Villa Savoye (house; Le Corbusier (Swiss architect, painter, and theorist, 1887-1...; 1929-1931)
Note: The Villa Savoye, designed and built Swiss architects Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret, is a modernist villa in Poissy, on the outskirts of Paris, France. Built between 1928-1932, the villa is a physical manifestation of le Corbusier’s principals of precision and function inl architecture, and has become one of the most important examples of the International Style. It features supporting ground-level pilotis or columns, a flat roof that also functions as a garden and terrace, an open floor plan, long horizontal windows, and a stark white facade that functions as a “skin” for the building.
