Dubbelportret van Philippus Baldaeus (1632-1671) en Gerrit Mossopatam (easel painting (painting by form); Johan de la Rocquette (Dutch painter, 1638/1639-ca. 1694); 1668; Rijksmuseum (Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands); SK-A-1299; RM001.collect.5263)
Note: Two men are pictured against a hilly landscape. On the right is a blond European man. He is wearing a red jacket, trousers with fur stripes and a checked turban. These clothes are reminiscent of Mogul dress worn in India in the second half of the seventeenth century. Slightly further back stands a Sinhalese man, naked to the waist. He is wearing a long white loincloth or lungi of shiny material, with a dark blue garment over the top. In the foreground lies some hunting equipment: a gun, a gunpowder pouch and a flask. On the far right hang two dead hares. Dogs of various European breeds stand at the feet of the seated man.
