Note: Issued in: Révolutions de France et de Brabant ... / par Camille Desmoulins (Paris : De l'imprimerie de Laillet & Garnéry ..., 1790, no. 18); According to Blum, the satirical print is of Abbé Jean-Sifrein Maury, a member of the National Assembly, who served as spokesman for the clergy and nobility; A clergyman, with the fool's bauble, cap, and bells, rides a donkey in a cobblestoned street lined with classical buildings. He carries a standard that is inscribed "Ego stultus propter Christum" (I am fool for Christ's sake); Forms part of: Prints of the French Revolution, 1774-ca. 1840 (Special Collections, accn. no.
