Note: The print can be dated circa 1700, based on the date of a miniature of the festa della Porchetta, documented by Maule, which depicts the same "macchina" and chariot race; The print depicts a chariot race performed during the festa della Porchetta in Bologna; Chariots are shown racing and circling around a rocky hill, which may feature Mount Helicon : two singers and four musicians playing string instruments stand on the hill. The square is enclosed by colonnated walls, rustic arches and obelisks "all'antica", which recall ancient ruins overgrown with vegetation. The insignia of the Gonfaloniere and eight Anziani are shown on a large scroll; Forms part of the Collection of festival prints, 1530-1887 (Special Collections accn. no. P910002**).
