Note: Etcher, who was documented in Milan circa 1760; The print depicts the Cuccagna monument erected in 1771 in Corso di Porta Orientale [i.e. Corso di Porta Venezia], Milan, in celebration of the wedding of Maria Beatrice d'Este to Duke Ferdinand of Austria; A tempietto flanked by two semi-circular flights of stairs is adorned with fowl and game. Animals run about near two Cuccagna trees. Courtiers appear at right on the ground or on a stand, watching from balconies, while musicians and the populace are shown on the left; Forms part of the Collection of festival prints, 1530-1887 (Special Collections accn. no. P910002**).[ca. 1771]
