Note: Arnold van Westerhout from Antwerp was active from 1681 in Rome, where he remained until his death in 1725, apart from a stay in Florence that was documented in 1691 and 1692. In 1720, he moved to the parish of Santa Maria in Trivio, near the fountain of Trevi, via delle Muratte; The print depicts the ceremonial of the conclave that was summoned on March 31,1721 after the death of Pope Clement XI, which elected Cardinal Conti as Pope Innocent XIII. It is dedicated by Westerhout to Alessandro Falconieri, auditor of the Sacra Romana Rota, vice-camerlengo, and governor of Rome; Forms part of the Collection of festival prints, 1530-1887 (Special Collections accn. no.
