Note: The archaeologist, draftsman, etcher, and painter Pietro Santi Bartoli from Perugia was active in Rome, as was his son Francesco Bartoli; The print depicts the catafalque designed for the obsequies "in absentia" of the late king of Poland, John III, held on 5 December 1696 at the Church of San Stanislao dei Polacchi in Rome; Trimmed within plate mark and glued to a disbound album leaf that is numbered and annotated in brown ink: Sebastiano Cipriani / 47 / 9 ... Binding holes in the left margin of the mount; Forms part of the Collection of festival prints, 1530-1887 (Special Collections accn. no. P910002**). Publication: [1696].
