We are all lurkers at some point (and I remember seeing your
contributions in the past). What Bunki and some others and I were
railing against are the people who have never contributed anything at
any time, but who feel free to e-mail us privately and request handouts,
lessons, advice, etc. Oftentimes all we'll get is a rather terse "I'd
like a copy of your handout," followed by an address. No intro, no
greetings, no offer to reimburse for postage, no thank yous after we've
sent them stuff. You really do start to feel used after that happens
several times. Claiming to be too busy to acknowledge receiving our
handouts is just an excuse for bad manners.

Those of you who lurk but feel you have nothing to contribute: I can
assure you you do! Even you new teachers will have fresh insights and
ideas we can use. Trust me.
