Taken from the fly's-eye view, this startling photograph of an ordinary insect challenges the viewer to expand his or her perception of the world. The insect's impressive monumentality lends it a significance not accorded in real life. Out of scale with the landscape, the fly assumes the role of an airplane, swooping up into the shadowed sky.
