Phintias was a potter of small, delicate vases, such as lekythoi, used by aristocratic Athenian women. Painters in the circle of the Meidias Painter, such as the Painter of the Frankfort Acorn, decorated these vases. The potter-signature of Phintias the Athenian has been identified on an "acorn lekythos" in a Frankfort collection.
