Upon opening his first studio in 1858, Dimitrios Constantin probably became the second professional photographer in Greece, after Philippos Margaritis. He exhibited his work internationally, winning a Bronze Medal in Paris at the 1867 International Exhibition. Constantin was the first photographer to work for the Greek Archaeological Society, documenting archaeological sites.
