Object Description

The illuminator here chose to emphasize the theme of the perversion of values on earth described in the Apocalypse. Taking his inspiration from the first two lines of text on the page, Et adoraverunt dracone[m] quia dedit potestatem bestie(And they adored the dragon who gave power to the beast), the artist showed the people on earth bowing down before the dragon, a symbol of Satan.
