Object Description

Standing with his hands in the pockets of his dark suit and looking directly out at the viewer with intense blue eyes, J. Paul Getty cuts an imposing and even confrontational figure. The overall somber color palette conveys austerity and restraint.

This painting is signed "Peral 65" in the corner, but it was not recorded in Getty’s art inventory and the artist has not been identified.
