Carpenter/ Door Mechanic, Facilities Department, The J. Paul Getty Trust

This is a two year limited term position ending October 7, 2011. Creates and assembles wooden parts to form complete units, using woodworking hand and power tools. Reads blueprints, drawings or written instructions to determine method and sequence of assembling parts. Measures, shapes, adjusts, trims and sands parts and joints to ensure that they fit snugly, using rules, hand tools and sandpaper. Must have experience with commercial and automatic doors and gates. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures in compliance with engineering specifications and Los Angeles city codes. Qualifications: High School/GED and a minimum 4-5 years related experience, a valid California driver's license with fewer than 3 DMV points. Central Plant Supervisor, Facilities Department, The J. Paul Getty Trust

The Central Plant Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all the Central Plant systems for the Getty. These systems include high pressure boilers, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, large volume pumps, condensate return systems, hot & cold closed loop water systems and heat exchangers. In addition, candidate must oversee chemical water treatment program for all related central plant systems. The Central Plant staff consists of 9 licensed operators which covers 3 shifts, seven days per week. Qualifications: Strong knowledge of preventive measures and good planning attributes to help avoid equipment breakdowns. Make decisions regarding hiring, evaluations, promotions and termination of employees. Understand schematics, control drawings and blueprints. Computer literate in software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Computerized PM program and BMS system. Staefa Controls and MAXIMO experience preferred. Two-year technical degree or equivalent training and background; Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum 3 to 5 years of supervisor experience, Unlimited Steam Engineer License with the City of Los Angeles and an EPA certification in refrigeration. Valid California driver's license with fewer than 3 DMV points and ability to drive a vehicle required. Candidate must have excellent personal, written and verbal skills. HVAC Technician, Facilities, The J. Paul Getty Trust

HVAC Technician to perform the following duties: Installs, maintain, and repairs heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems. Utilizes direct digital control (DDC) system to monitor HVAC systems and operations from remote locations. Ensure that routine preventative maintenance is performed according to established schedules. Checks, repairs and/or replaces valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, pipes and other functional components of the system. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Qualifications: High School/GED required; Trade School preferred. Minimum 5-7 years related experience. EPA certification in refrigeration required. Food Service equipment / refrigeration experience a plus. CA drivers license with fewer than 3 DMV points and ability to drive a vehicle required. Boiler Room (Plant) Operator, Facilities, The J. Paul Getty Trust *ERRP*

This position is responsible for operating and maintaining mechanical systems equipment, including centrifugal chillers, boilers, heat exchangers, and associated pumps and related control systems. Monitors & records equipment readings and services and adjusts equipment within established guidelines. Repairs and performs preventive maintenance procedures on equipment and systems both manually and through BMS. The qualified candidate will have 4-5 years plant operations experience, City of Los Angeles unlimited steam license and EPA certification. CA drivers license with fewer than 3 DMV points and ability to drive a vehicle required. We offer a starting pay rate of $29.20 per hour and an excellent benefits package.
