Senior Staff Assistant, Accounting Department, The J. Paul Getty Trust
Requisition: 3220

Position is located at the Getty Center. Works under general supervision, and reports to the Administrative/AP Supervisor supporting the Finance staff. Provides a broad range of high-level administrative support requiring largely independent execution with an emphasis on team support and participation. This position is part of a support team and provides back-up as required including commuting between our Villa location in Pacific Palisades and the Getty Center as needed. Responsibilities include: the daily processing and deposit of cash and assisting in monthly report preparations such as the general ledger and budget, which includes data entry. Undertakes research and administrative projects. Regularly performs a variety of routine administrative tasks, such as updating several excel reports, scanning/imaging for hours at a time, filing, photocopying, mail and other clerical tasks. Serves as a backup for the A/P administrative team processing checks and positive pay. Anticipates departmental administrative needs and develops efficiencies to minimize workflow disruptions. Handles complex written and phone inquiries and interacts with wide range of personnel throughout the Getty. A minimum of 4-5 years related experience plus high school diploma or GED required, Bachelors degree preferred. Must be proficient in operating MS Word, Excel. Experience with cash management required, PeopleSoft Financials and Imaging Now helpful. Requires excellent attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to respond in a tactful and diplomatic manner with all levels of the organization on matters of a sensitive and confidential nature. Must be able to adjust quickly and easily to frequent and rapidly changing priorities and excellent at time management. Must be punctual and reliable and interested in assuming additional responsibilities. Sr. Accounting Systems Technician, Finance and Accounting, The J. Paul Getty Trust
Requisition: 3215

Assists A/P with vendor maintenance and set up, documentation of new and existing A/P procedures, as well as 1099 research and processing. Assists department with records retention management and coordination of Image Now upgrade. Develops documentation of new and existing payroll procedures, including Kronos timekeeping application. Supports accounting functions through advising on and directing general ledger, accounts payable, asset management and HRMS payroll usage. Uses knowledge of automated systems such as PeopleSoft to input data, generate records, conduct specialized research projects and respond to inquiries from corporate personnel and management, vendors and/or field operations. Troubleshoots accounting support systems and acts as first line of support in solving accounting related systems problems. Ensures quality of work performed by all accounting support functions meets Getty standards. Requirements: High school diploma/GED and 5+ years finance/accounting and administrative experience. Sr. Accountant, Finance and Accounting, The J. Paul Getty Trust
Requisition: 3206

Candidate must possess Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience in a traditional accounting environment (2 years public, 1 year private or equivalent), CPA preferred, experience with PeopleSoft software(version 9) and have excellent Microsoft Excel skills. Key duties include, preparing draft of year-end financial statement, preparing and presenting reports on financial performance, assisting with internal and external year-end audits, providing timely response to inquiries from internal and external customers, developing business policies and procedures, reconciling balance sheet accounts and preparing and recording deposit schedules. Candidate must have excellent leadership/organizational skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, the ability to effectively interact with others, excellent oral and written communication skills, and extensive knowledge of business analysis.
